About BGL Estates

BGL Estates owns and manages a diverse property portfolio including two 1,000 acre mixed use estates (Burhill Park and the Pyrford Estate), gated residential estates, various commercial units and the Quay and circa 850 moorings at Bosham in the beautiful Chichester Harbour, West Sussex.

In addition to the management of the estates, BGL Estates also undertakes development activities on some of its sites, to not only improve the Company’s existing assets and facilities, but to also add value through sensitive developments. We are currently working towards the submission of a planning application for the redevelopment of a derelict former boatyard in Bosham, to create a high quality, mixed development comprising four impressive dwellings and a marine storage facility. We are also working on the creation of a country park; the redevelopment of two sets of redundant farm buildings (one into a rural office centre and the other a residential scheme in an attractive courtyard layout); the creation of a leisure park; the development and roll-out of Adventure Golf courses (the first of which is under construction at our Abbey Hill Golf Centre in Milton Keynes); and, the extension and refurbishment of a number of our existing golf centres to create additional health and fitness, spa and banqueting facilities and to ensure our facilities are maintained to a high standard.

Recent property development projects include:

Burwood Park Estate, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey

A joint venture with local prestige developer, Octagon Developments Limited, to build a collection of ten prestigious residencies on the Burwood Park estate. The sale of all ten properties was completed in early 2011.

Chestnut Farm Barn, Cobham, Surrey

A barn conversion to create a delightful terrace of four 3-bedroom cottages on the Burhill Estate. The properties are currently let as part of the Company’s property investment portfolio.

Spindrift Mews, Bosham, West Sussex

The development of a classic ‘mews style residential scheme of 16 properties offering three and four bedroom houses and a single two bedroom bungalow. The scheme was completed in 2008 and all the properties have been sold.

The final role of the Estates Division is to keep abreast of the various market places in which the Company operates and to ensure that all relevant acquisition opportunities are considered and any competitive threats are understood to protect the business.
